Every year, lakhs of students take the NEET. The National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level medical entrance exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers it for admission to medical courses at recognised and approved medical institutes across the country.

What is NEET?

The introduction of medical technology has greatly improved public health and life spans, and more activities are being expanded and intensified in this regard, with this socioeconomic change in the system also increasing the need for experts in a variety of fields.

NEET is an abbreviation for National Eligibility and Entrance Test. It is a medical entrance exam administered by the NTA (National Testing Agency) for candidates who wish to pursue undergraduate medical programmes after graduating from high school. To qualify and seek admission to medical universities, students must meet the NEET cut-off (which varies from year to year).

According to Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act of 2019, NEET is the common and uniform medical entrance test for UG medical courses across all medical institutes, administered under any law.
